am: Teaching Steve on 'Les Cascades', he's doing really well. I'm very
chuffed, he had no problems using chairlift for first time. A good pace for
me too, didn't want to wear myself out before afternoon.
pm: Group lesson with Elodie. She really is a top instructor. Down the
Cascades as a warm up, up the Comborsiere lift, then she took us off-piste
down to Arc 1600. It was fantastic, boarding on powder and not on a proper
ski run. Really enjoyed it. Shame about my burning calves, I knew I should
have prepared better before coming. The group is gelling really well, a
couple of brits, a couple of swiss, couple of german, dutch, belgian, and a
totally barking duo from Gozo. We stuck to mainly blue and red runs
between Arcs 1600 & 1800 before returning to 2000 via the half-pipe. It was
really good, bar the pain in my feet. I'm hiring boots tomorrow to see if
it's my boots, or my feet, that are causing me so much pain. The toes on my
left foot were pretty swollen at the end of the day and I was in agony. It
marred an otherwise stonking afternoon.
